Job summary

Tropicana Corporation Berhad is seeking a capable site-based Project Coordinator to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in day-to-day administration. The role involves coordinating plan analyses, resolving design discrepancies, liaising with consultants, and ensuring on-site works meet ISO and contractual specifications.

Candidates should hold a degree in Construction Management or related field with 3+ years of site construction experience, and be proficient in MS

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• 3+ years' site construction and project management experience.
• Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of MS Project advantageous.
• Analytical mindset with ability to coordinate drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in daily project administration.
• Coordinate plan and specification analyses for clear design interpretations.
• Check design documents for conflicts, interferences, discrepancies and errors.
• Liaise with consultants to expedite drawings and related information.
• Monitor field work for compliance with standards and codes.
• Track project costs and schedule performance; support cost/schedule control.
• Advise on FRIs/VPRs status and prepare close-out documents.
• Coordinate and control architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil and structural works on site.

Job description

To assist the Project Manager and Superintendent, where applicable, in the day to day duties of the project’s administration.

To work closely under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager.

To assist in plan and specification analysis in order to provide clear, tractable and coordinated interpretations of the designs/drawings for constructions.

To check and recommend solutions to the design documents problems, including conflicts, interferences, discrepancies, and errors/omissions.

To liaise with all the consultants in expediting drawings and related information.

To monitor field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards & requirements, procedures, specifications and codes.

To monitor project costs and schedule performance including proceeding project cost and schedule control when needed.

To advise the Project Manager on the status of FRIs/VPRs.

To coordinate submittals and procure all close-out documents including warranties and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.

Ensure completion of final project documentations.

To liaise with consultants, internal departments authorities and contractors in terms of scheduling, designing, budgeting, quality control approval and progress claim certifications.

To coordinate and control all the architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil and structural construction works on site.

Requirement:

At least a Degree on Construction Management, Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture or other related discipline

3 years and above of working in site construction and project management.

Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Practical knowledge of project plan development and implementation.

Knowledge of project planning, scheduling and MS Project.

Knowledge in coordinating and monitoring of site works in accordance with ISO requirements and contractual specifications.

Good analytical skills.
