Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. seeks a Site Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring projects meet drawings and specifications at the Johor site.

You will plan, coordinate and supervise construction and maintenance activities, monitor progress, and coordinate with managers, engineers, consultants and suppliers to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a degree in civil engineering or related field and relevant site management experience.
• Proven ability to plan, coordinate and supervise construction and maintenance activities.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Proficient reading of drawings, specs and method statements to guide work.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily site operations to ensure projects meet drawings and specifications.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise construction and maintenance activities at the site.
• Monitor progress and ensure works align with approved schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Review technical documents and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues promptly.
• Monitor resources including manpower, materials and equipment for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, risks, and actions.
• Prepare site reports, progress records and cost coordination with teams.
• Ensure defects and outstanding works are rectified and closed out.
• Lead and supervise site personnel for effective operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Manage and oversee daily site operations to ensure projects are completed according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Plan, coordinate and supervise construction, engineering and maintenance activities at the project site.

Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved schedule and milestones.

Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

Review drawings, specifications, method statements and other technical documents before and during site activities.

Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Identify and resolve technical, construction and site‑related issues in a timely manner.

Monitor site resources including manpower, materials, equipment and machinery to ensure efficient utilisation.

Ensure all site activities comply with applicable safety, health, environmental and statutory requirements.

Monitor contractors and subcontractors and ensure works are carried out according to approved methods and project requirements.

Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on project progress, issues, risks and required actions.

Prepare and review site reports, progress reports, inspection records and other project documentation.

Monitor project costs and coordinate with the relevant team to minimise unnecessary delays and additional costs.

Ensure defects, non‑conformities and outstanding works are properly rectified and completed.

Lead and supervise site personnel to ensure effective coordination and smooth daily operations.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in site management, construction or engineering projects.

Experience in building, infrastructure, engineering or maintenance projects is preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, site operations and project coordination.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, method statements and project documents.

Good understanding of project scheduling, quality control and site safety requirements.

Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.

Able to manage contractors, subcontractors and site personnel effectively.

Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple site activities.

Able to work independently and make effective decisions to resolve site issues.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management or technical software.

Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
