Job summary

Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad is seeking a finance professional to support the Investment Banking team in debt capital market deals, including origination, syndication and execution, and the account opening process. You will prepare business plans and pitch books, coordinate investor meetings and roadshows, draft engagement letters and market updates, and ensure compliance with applicable rules.

• Minimum 3 years in debt capital market.
• Knowledge of debt financing including credit evaluation, cash flow analysis, ESG & sustainability financing and market status.
• Good understanding of regulatory laws, rules, guidelines, and internal policies.
• Strong financial modelling and financial analytics skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel under pressure amid deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team lead in deal origination, syndication and execution and account opening process for debt and debt-related transactions.
• Prepare business plans and pitch books to support the team in deal pitching and structuring.
• Coordinate, syndicate and research on execution and marketing process, including investor meetings, management roadshows; liaise with other professional parties.
• Draft documentation such as engagement letters, market updates, investor feedback, discussion material for live deal transactions, and case studies of recent deals.
• Ensure compliance of all acts, regulations, guidelines, policies and SOPs related to the job assigned.
• Assist in achieving the targets and objectives set in HLIB’s sustainability journey.
• Deliver quality work and satisfactory deliverables within expected timeline.
• Work closely with clients and execution teams to minimize transaction risks.
• Produce quality pitch books, valuation models and analyses to support transactions and client presentations.

Job Requirements

Possess Bachelor Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or any equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in debt capital market.

Knowledge related to debt financing including credit evaluation, cash flow analysis, ESG & sustainability financing and financial market status.

Good understanding of relevant regulatory laws, rules, guidelines, and internal policies.

Good financial modelling and financial analytical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines.

A high level of attention to detail.

Self-initiated and team oriented.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
