Job summary

Signature International Berhad is seeking a Senior Executive, Commercial to support tendering, cost estimation and commercial management for interior design, fit-out and built-in works projects.

You will prepare cost estimates, review documents, perform quantity take-offs, source quotes, and develop commercial recommendations with value engineering, ensuring accurate handover at project award.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Interior Design, Building Technology, or related disciplines.
• AT least 3 years' experience in tendering, estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial roles within construction, fit-out or interior design.
• Strong understanding of BQ, cost estimation and tender management.
• Experience in Interior Design (ID) and built-in works is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.

The role is responsible for developing competitive cost proposals, driving value engineering initiatives, and ensuring commercial accuracy from tender stage through project award.

Job Description

Prepare cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial proposals for ID and built-in works projects.

Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) to develop accurate project costing.

Conduct quantity take-offs and verify tender quantities.

Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and pricing strategies to ensure competitive submissions.

Develop detailed cost breakdowns and commercial recommendations.

Commercial Strategy & Value Engineering

Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions without compromising design intent or project quality.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

Continuously update vendor and cost databases to improve tender efficiency and market competitiveness.

Project Award & Handover

Prepare BQ rationalization and commercial documentation upon project award.

Support smooth project handover by providing accurate tender and costing information to delivery teams.

Attend tender interviews, site visits, and client meetings when required.

Job Requirement

Possess a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Interior Design, Building Technology, or related disciplines

With at least 3 years of experience in tendering, estimating, quantity surveying, or commercial functions within construction, fit-out, or interior design industries

Strong understanding of BQ, cost estimation, and tender management

Experience in Interior Design (ID) and built-in works will be an added advantage

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills

Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
