Job summary

Maybank is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support virtualization, Windows servers, and related hardware in a Kuala Lumpur environment. You will resolve incidents across levels 1–3, perform health checks, and collaborate with multiple teams to design, configure, and deploy compliant solutions.

The role emphasizes maintaining server reliability, applying patches, and ensuring security as per Maybank standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Windows Server, virtualization, and data center operations.
• Experience with VMware/VCP-DCV and Nutanix design, deployment, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide level 1–3 support for virtualization and Windows servers 24x7.
• Perform health checks, incident reviews, and RCA where needed.
• Lead small projects, coordinate with vendors, and ensure adherence to Maybank standards.
• Deploy and configure new hardware and OS, monitor performance and security.
• Manage active directory services, backups, patching, and DR activities.

Job description

To provide support for Virtualization Infrastructure & Wintel Servers (Hardware and Operating Systems), Physical and Virtual Servers

The Engineer is responsible for:

• Level 1, 2 and 3 problem resolution. 24 x 7 availability to attend critical system issues
• Daily health check on environment and report if any issues
• Under minimal supervision partner with other teams to plan, coordinate, design, configure,

Install, and maintain Intel based systems.

• Review, maintain and monitor system reliability and performance.
• Install and configure new server hardware and operating system
• Perform patching and updates on server OS and Hardware
• Review and enforce security and server policy.
• Involve in Incident & Problem logging, RCA, Problem Management log
• Act as technical project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration.
• Work with vendors and partners to ensure hardware and software are delivered/configured according to specification.

1. Provide 1st, 2nd.Level and 3rd.Level support on the day to day operation covering Servers (Hardware and Operation System)

2. Participate in tier 1/2/3 calls and provide relevant input on incident resolution

Problem resolution is within agreed SLA for Tier 1 and Tier 2 and Tier 3 inciden

4. Tier bridge incidents could come from different technologies, narrowing down the issue to be prioritized

5. Collaborate with other IT team to resolve complex technical problem. Participate on escalation call Tier 1 and Tier 2 and Tier 3 incident

6. Ensuring the proposed solution is as per Maybank standards and no impact to the existing infrastructure

4. Oversee the deployment of Windows servers, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting

• Review and validate periodic deployment/capacity reports to ensure capacity, performance and availability are at optimum level.
• Review and document changes to existing servers to avoid system interruption and business impact
• Monitor and manage the resolution of problems within infrastructure, including identification of root cause analysis
• Engage with Vendors and others internal teams for planned maintenance activities
• Ensure documentations are maintained and updated regularly
• Participate on Standby schedule
• Participate on planned maintenance activities
• Deliver projects according to SLA
• Deliver servers according to Maybank best practices & SOP.

System Design and Deployment

Under minimal supervision partner with other teams to plan, coordinate, design, configure, install, and maintain Intel based systems

• Attend weekly Infra Solution Architect Review (ISAR) meeting.
• Ensuring the proposed solution is as per Maybank standards and no impact to the existing infrastructure.
• Install and configure new server hardware and operation system according to back standard and policies
• Ensure that proper monitoring, backup is in place before system go-live
• Attend to project meeting and discussion
• Delivery system and configuration according to project timeline

1) Achieve System Availability, response time, services availability and Problem resolution based on SLA with maximum tolerance of 10% of incidents per year - Quarterly

- attendance in weekly Change Advisory Board meeting

1) Review and follow up WSR report (All ticket, Change activity, Audit and SR/WO)
