Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist in Petaling Jaya to manage server operations, virtualization, backups, and DR readiness. You will ensure Windows/Linux servers run smoothly, support VMware environments, and help secure data with backup and DR practices.

You will monitor health, perform patch testing, assist in DR drills, and provide Tier-1/Tier-2 support, while coordinating with network teams and security/compliance groups. A 1–3 year background in IT infra is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, server administration, or technical support.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments, Active Directory, and file services.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud concepts (Azure, Huawei, Alibaba Cloud).
• Understanding of backup solutions, disaster recovery protocols, and storage management.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) to support infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CCNA, Azure Administrator, or VMware Certified Associate (VMCA) are advantageous (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
• Analytical skills: diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement lasting solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to document technical processes.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily health checks and proactive monitoring of Windows/Linux production servers and VMware infrastructure.

• Support maintenance of DR servers and hybrid cloud environments (Azure / Huawei / Alibaba Cloud).
• Monitor and execute daily backup operations across all critical systems with high success rate; escalate failures.
• Assist monthly restore tests and DR drill exercises; document results.
• Maintain backup integrity and verify data retention policies.
• Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 support for server, storage, and infrastructure incidents.
• Respond to critical alerts within 30 minutes; resolve 90% of tickets within 24 hours.
• Collaborate with Network & End-User Support to troubleshoot connectivity/storage issues.
• Implement server-level access controls, encryption, and security protocols; protect data integrity.
• Assist Security & Compliance with vulnerability scans; ensure no critical unpatched vulnerabilities remain open for >48 hours.
• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements regarding data protection and logging.
• Document system updates, runbooks, and incident resolutions within 24 hours.
• Maintain documentation of server configurations, backup logs, network diagrams, and asset inventories.
• Generate daily/weekly system performance and backup status reports for the Team Lead.

1. Server Operations & Virtualization Management

• Perform daily health checks and proactive monitoring of Windows/Linux production servers and VMware virtual infrastructure.
  
• Assist in the testing and deployment of security patches and firmware updates within the strict 48-hour SLA.
  
• Support the maintenance of disaster recovery (DR) servers (e.g., CMOS, TMS) and hybrid cloud environments (Azure / Huawei / Alibaba Cloud).
  

2. Backup & Disaster Recovery Execution

• Monitor and execute daily backup operations across all critical systems, ensuring a 100% success rate and immediately escalating any failures.
  
• Assist in conducting monthly restore tests and disaster recovery drill exercises, meticulously documenting all results.
  
• Maintain backup integrity and verify data retention policies.
  
• Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support for server, storage, and infrastructure-related incidents.
  
• Respond to critical infrastructure alerts within 30 minutes and resolve 90% of assigned tickets within 24 hours.
  
• Collaborate with the Network & End-User Support team to troubleshoot complex connectivity, endpoint, or storage issues.
  

4. Security & Compliance Adherence

• Implement server-level access controls, encryption, and security protocols to protect data against unauthorized access.
  
• Assist the Security & Compliance team in routine vulnerability scans, ensuring zero critical unpatched server vulnerabilities remain open for >48 hours.
  
• Maintain strict adherence to BNM regulatory requirements regarding data protection and system logging.
  

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of server configurations, backup logs, network diagrams, and infrastructure asset inventories.
  
• Generate daily/weekly system performance and backup status reports for the Team Lead.
  
• Document all system updates, runbooks, and incident resolutions within 24 hours of completion.
  

Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, server administration, or technical support.
3. Technical Expertise:

• Strong foundational knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments, Active Directory, and file services.
  
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud concepts (Azure, Huawei, or Alibaba Cloud).
  
• Understanding of backup solutions, disaster recovery protocols, and storage management
