Job description

Job Purpose

• Execute implementation of performance monitoring related initiatives and projects for IT systems and services to meet the needs of the business applications. These initiatives cover services deployed for Malaysia and regional sites.
• Assist in research and development of monitoring solutions & tools to identify technologies related to performance management that would bring value to the bank.

Key Accountabilities & Outcomes

• Performance Management: Execute implementation of performance related initiatives and measures of the IT services to ensure IT services are available as required that meets the needs of the business. Provide end to end visibility for critical services and timely notifications for performance degradation. Assist in the execution of performance monitoring.
• Engage with service owners on adopting new and emerging performance monitoring technologies and products. Ensure monitoring system is bug free, new features, optimum performances. Liaise to proactively manage the performance of IT services 24x7.
• Execute entire process of monitoring configuration.
• Assist in isolation and identification of problem resolution on performance related issues.
• Execute monitoring, analysis and continuous fine tuning of performance metrics.
• Support and maintain performance monitoring to cater changes in monitoring configuration.
• Execute POC of monitoring solutions with vendors.
• Manage capacity of performance monitoring platform to ensure availability and expansion.
• Maintain the health of the environment by keeping it up to date with upgrades and patches and troubleshoot issues associated with performance monitoring tools.
• Participate in troubleshooting and analysis processes during production issues.
• Project Management: Execute projects on schedule, within budget and with allocated resources. Produce reports and updates of project status. Coordinate issues that require escalation with external/internal parties.
• Financial Management: Assist in managing quotation and PO for monitoring activities. Track budget.
• Vendor/Stakeholder Management: Review vendors’ performance periodically with defined service levels. Maintain commercial relationships with vendors for timely delivery of products and services. Manage service providers to ensure adherence to standards, processes, contractual terms and conditions.
• Keep abreast of industry changes in terms of innovation and best practices. Explore new and emerging performance monitoring technologies, services, methods and techniques. Enhance current tools and introduce new tools for monitoring. Identify new and emerging technologies and assess relevance and potential value.
• Attend seminars and conferences.
• Governance/Compliance: Follow up on actions to resolve issues identified. Comply with bank’s policy and processes.
• Problem Management: Assist in compiling analysis report, findings, and recommendations for performance related issues to assist in root cause analysis. Solve problems for performance issues.
