Job summary

Starhub Ltd in Malaysia seeks a Performance Test Lead to ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and capacity goals before production releases. You will design and run load and stress tests, and drive adoption of performance best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to identify bottlenecks, produce clear reports, and set KPIs, SLAs, and release criteria based on objective evidence.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain load, stress, endurance, spike, and capacity tests.
• Create and maintain reusable performance test frameworks and automated test assets.
• Define test workloads based on production usage patterns and expected business growth.
• Partner with developers, architects, infrastructure, and product teams to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Produce clear performance assessment reports, risk evaluations, and release recommendations.
• Establish and maintain performance testing standards, templates, and best practices.
• Support capacity planning and performance readiness assessments for major releases and platform changes.

Role Mission: Ensure business-critical applications and platforms meet defined performance, reliability, and capacity requirements before production releases through effective performance testing and analysis.

Drive the adoption of performance best practices across the software delivery lifecycle to proactivelyidentifybottlenecks and address them to improve end-user experience.

Accountabilities:

Take overexistingperformance testscripts from vendors

Schedule,designand drive performance tests

Performance test strategy and execution for assigned applications and platforms.

Definition and maintenance of realistic workload models, performance baselines.

Identification, analysis, and communication of performance risks, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints, translated into reports for stakeholders

Improve test reliability and time taken forperformancetest runs

Improveperformance of applications in terms ofuser experience and satisfaction

Collaboratewith engineering teams to improve applicationperformanceand resource efficiency.

Recommend release readiness from a performance perspective based on objective evidence.

Ideal Track Record:

Successfully ledperformance test runsfor multiple enterprise-scale software releases withdemonstrableperformanceimprovements for said software.

Identifiedand helped resolve critical production or pre-production bottlenecks that improved application response times, throughput, or stability.

Designedperformance test plans for web and mobile applications, with clear ability to explain environmental considerations in said plans.

Designed and implemented automated performance testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

Established performance baselines, KPIs, and testing standards adopted by engineering teams, with reports or dashboards designed to communicate such findings with non-tech stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to influence engineering teams using data-driven recommendations and technical analysis.
