Job summary

TDK Electronics Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to drive process development and equipment maintenance at our Johor Bahru site. You will implement advanced processes to maximize production capacity and efficiency while collaborating with vendors on automation initiatives.

The role requires hands-on electrical/electronics troubleshooting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead process improvements from concept through to final release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in engineering with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/electronics maintenance preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Install new state-of-the-art processes to achieve optimum production capacity and efficiency.
• Develop automation concepts with vendors to improve productivity.
• Prepare user requirement specs to ensure efficient equipment or processes.
• Escalate and diagnose equipment issues with vendors to resolve root causes.
• Support product development with new processes/equipment introduction.
• Complete and hand over new processes or machines to Production/Users after release.
• Stay updated on industry trends and continuously improve processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Install new state-of-the-art processes to achieve optimum production capacity/capability & saving/ratio.

2. Develop new automation concepts/methods with vendors to optimize productivity and processes.

3. Prepare user requirement specification to ensure equipment or process are efficient, effective, and aligned with strategic engineering goals, including safety and health compliance.

4. Act as a point of escalation to diagnose and resolve equipment technical issues by liaising with vendor.

5. Support of product development (R&D) with the development and introduction of new process/equipment into production.

6. Complete and handover to Production / User departments, new processes / machines until final release.

7. Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to process development and continuously improve the organization's processes and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering.

2. At least 5 to 10 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment/ electronics maintenance line.

3. Solid understanding of electrical and electronics circuit/schematic and hands-on troubleshooting machines with testing equipment (e.g oscilloscope)

4. Knowledgeable in process improvement methodologies and project management.

5. Good communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

6. Independent, self-motivated and resourceful individual with good interpersonal skills.
