Job summary

QES Group of Companies invites a Senior Electrical Engineer (R&D) to join our team in Malaysia. The role focuses on designing electrical systems for semiconductor equipment and ensuring integration with mechanical and software components to achieve peak performance.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in electrical design for related industries, proficiency in AutoCAD and PCB design software, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering design for semiconductor equipment, robotics, automation, motion control, or precision machinery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for semiconductor equipment.
• Integrate electrical with mechanical and software components for on-time delivery and optimum performance.
• Test and verify wiring and safety compliance to electrical standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems during prototyping and production stages.
• Select and specify components meeting quality and performance requirements.
• Guide junior engineers and technicians during assembly, testing and commissioning.
• Document design changes, test results, and troubleshooting activities; participate in design reviews.
• Support production on electrical/electronic engineering issues.

Job description

We are principally involved in manufacturing of optical inspection, measurement & automated handling equipment.

In line with the business expansion, we are currently seeking a motivated candidate to fill up the vacancy of Senior Electrical Engineer (R&D).

General Responsibilities:-

Design and development of electrical systems for semiconductor equipment.

Support the integration of electrical systems with mechanical and software components of semiconductor equipment to ensure the electrical design and installation are completed on time for optimum performance.

Integrate and interface of third party equipment into electrical design.

Provide thorough testing and machine functionality to verify electrical wiring and safety compliance to electrical standards

Assist in the troubleshooting of electrical systems during the prototyping and production phases.

Assist in the selection and specification of electrical components, ensuring they meet quality and performance requirements.

Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to resolve electrical issues and contribute to system improvements.

Document design changes, test results, and troubleshooting activities for future reference and compliance.

Participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions on electrical system performance and reliability.

Support production department on product’s electrical/electronic engineering issues.

Prepare report or documentation on daily activity/project/task.

Need to be cost and quality awareness for all daily activity involved.

Ensure electrical designs SOP & documentation comply with ISO standards.

Provide technical guidance and supervision to Junior Electrical Engineer(s) and Technician(s) during machine assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, project specifications, and quality expectations.

Other duties assigned by superior from time to time.

Requirements:-

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering is required.

Candidate with above 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering design in the semiconductor equipment, robotic, automation, motion control system or precision machinery industries is an added point.

Proficiency in electrical design software - AutoCAD.

Knowledge in electronic circuit design and electrical wiring design of automated handler is an added advantage.

Knowledge in motion control system & computer interface is an added advantage.

Computer literate preferable in Microsoft office/CAD software/PCB design software.
