Job summary

Advanced Energy Management Limited is seeking an Equipment Engineer to oversee, develop, and maintain manufacturing equipment for peak efficiency and quality. You will drive upgrades, automate processes, and implement PM programs to minimize downtime in a fast-paced lab and office environment.

The role requires seven years’ experience in engineering, ISO quality systems, and knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, and Lean practices. CAD skills and equipment simulation tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• Seven+ years of related experience.
• Familiar with ISO quality system and Semiconductor Assembly BE process.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Proficiency reading schematics/blueprints and CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, develop, and maintain manufacturing equipment for peak efficiency and quality.
• Lead equipment upgrades and automation to cut maintenance costs and defects.
• Drive OEE improvements with gap analysis.
• Develop and execute PM schedules for equipment, fixtures, and jigs.
• Track MTBA/MTTF to maximize equipment availability.
• Define spare parts and manage inventory to avoid idle time.
• Address customer quality feedback with corrective actions and monitoring.
• Create equipment manuals, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs.
• Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA for faulty equipment.
• Collaborate with IE to establish Line Balancing Chart and Balancing Factor.
• Work with engineers, technicians, and staff across functions.
• Adhere to quality, health and safety, environment, 5S, and conduct policies.
• Provide mentorship and on-the-job training for technicians and junior engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Equipment Engineer will oversee, develop, and maintain manufacturing equipments in its highest efficiency as well as quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spreadhead equipment upgrades and automation enhancements to reduce maintenance cost and equipment related defects.
• Drive OEE improvements with in-depth performance gaps analyzing.
• Develop and execute PM schedule to ensure equipment/fixture/jig runs efficiently and safely.
• Track, improve and analyze MTBA and MTTF to maximize equipment availability and stability.
• Develop and define critical spare part list and manage inventory to avoid unnecessary equipment idle time.
• Follow up on the customer quality feedback, prepare corrective action, and monitor th e implementation.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation like equipment manuals, troubleshooting guides and SOP.
• Lead complex faulty equipment and execute systematic root-cause problem solving and execute immediate CAPA.
• Work along with IE to establish LBC (Line Balancing Chart) and Operator BF (Balancing Factor).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians and other staff.
• Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
• Provide technical mentorship, coaching, OJT for technicians as well as junior engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
• Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
• Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to demonstrate independent judgment, responsibility, and professionalism in front of program teams.
• Ability to handle complex engineering assignments.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in CAD software and equipment simulation tools.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of seven (7) years related experience.
• Familiar with ISO quality system.
• Familiar with Semiconductor Assembly BE process.
• Have good knowledge in 6Sigma, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Maintaining wire bonding system knowledge.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
