Job summary

TIMESCONSULT in Negeri Sembilan is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Senawang-based Engineering team. You will lead electrical design activities, prepare documentation, and guide junior engineers through design and drafting processes.

You will coordinate with project teams, select components, troubleshoot, visit fabrication floors, and ensure schedules are met, while communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of design, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Able to lead and guide team members.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs and identify key electrical design parameters.
• Prepare technical clarifications, deviations, analyses, schematics and drawings.
• Provide guidance to Electrical Engineers throughout design and documentation stages.
• Monitor submissions and ensure documentation meets schedule.
• Develop and propose electrical design concepts per client/project requirements.
• Review supplier drawings and quotations per design specs.
• Coordinate with draftspersons and provide design parameters for drawings.
• Source electrical components based on project needs.
• Respond to technical comments and ECNs.
• Prepare installation, operation, and maintenance procedures.
• Provide technical support to other departments and troubleshoot issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in Engineering.
• Mentor junior/new Electrical Engineers.
• Conduct factory-floor visits to stay updated on fabrication and testing.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering team in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design activities, technical documentation, project coordination, component selection, troubleshooting, and providing technical guidance to engineers and drafting personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and contract requirements to identify key electrical design parameters.
• Prepare technical clarifications, deviation lists, electrical analyses, schematic diagrams, drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Provide guidance to Electrical Engineers throughout the design and documentation stages.
• Monitor design submissions and ensure project documentation is completed according to the required schedule.
• Develop and propose suitable electrical design concepts based on client and project requirements.
• Review and approve supplier drawings and quotations according to design specifications.
• Coordinate with electrical draftspersons and provide design parameters required for drawing preparation.
• Source suitable new or alternative electrical components and products based on project requirements.
• Respond to third-party technical comments and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
• Prepare installation, operation, and maintenance procedures for electrical components.
• Provide technical support to other departments and troubleshoot electrical-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering department.
• Guide and mentor junior or newly joined Electrical Engineers.
• Conduct regular factory-floor visits to stay updated on fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
• Good knowledge of electrical design, analysis, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and MathCAD Design software.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and provide leadership and guidance to team members.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Chinese language proficiency is required to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking clients.
• Enthusiastic, adaptable, and open-minded with a willingness to continuously learn.
• Must be willing to work in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.
