Job summary

AGENSI PEKERJAAN GLOBAL HIRE SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for industrial construction projects in the Penang/Kulim region.

You will handle electrical system design, calculations, drawing review and multi-disciplinary coordination throughout project execution. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years in industrial plants or similar high-tech projects, with AutoCAD proficiency and strong electrical engineering knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in industrial plants, semiconductor facilities or large-scale M&E projects is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical design software; ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical system design and engineering calculations for industrial projects.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications and schematics.
• Design LV/MV distribution systems and related electrical infrastructure.
• Conduct load calculations, cable sizing and voltage drop analyses.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with clients, contractors and other disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and project specifications.

Salary Range
RM6,000 – RM10,000

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Working Hours
Monday – Saturday
Working hours are subject to project requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team supporting large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects in the Penang / Kulim region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical system design, technical calculations, drawing review, engineering coordination and technical support throughout project execution.

Candidates with experience in semiconductor plants, manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, data centres or other high-tech industrial projects are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical system design and engineering calculations for industrial projects.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, schematics and technical documentation.
• Design and review LV/MV electrical distribution systems, power supply and related electrical systems.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and equipment selection.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions and material specifications.
• Coordinate electrical design requirements with clients, consultants, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Resolve electrical design and site technical issues during project execution.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical design or engineering experience.
• Experience in industrial plants, semiconductor facilities, manufacturing plants, cleanrooms, data centres or large-scale M&E projects will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, LV/MV systems and electrical engineering calculations.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and relevant electrical design software.
• Able to read and review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good technical, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English.
• Mandarin communication skills will be an added advantage.
• Willing to work in the Penang / Kulim project area.
