Micro-Mechanics Malaysia is seeking a capable design engineer to develop tooling for Die Attach and Wire Bonding. You will create 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, and specifications, balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost across projects.
You will lead CAD work (Inventor/AutoCAD), perform tolerance and thermal analyses, collaborate with R&D and manufacturing, and provide design reviews to optimize reliability and producibility.

Design and develop tooling solutions for Die Attach and Wire Bonding applications, considering performance, manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness. Create detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Design and optimise spring load tooling to achieve customer requirements. Perform design analysis, including tolerance analysis and thermal analysis, to ensure tooling performance meets specifications.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop tooling solutions for Die Attach and Wire Bonding applications, considering performance, manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness
Develop detailed 2D drawings for mold based on customer's specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standard
Design and optimise spring load tooling to achieve customer's requirement
Create detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
Efficiently allocate tasks to team members based on their skills, workload, and project priorities
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure the feasibility and optimization of designs
Perform design analysis, including tolerance analysis, and thermal analysis, to ensure tooling performance meets specifications
Conduct design reviews and provide technical input of complex parts to optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements in all design activities
Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of tooling designs, and provide feedback for design improvements
About you
Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as Inventor or AutoCAD
Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Knowledge of mold design & manufacturing process and industry standards
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose design solutions
Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate engineering documentation
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
Eagerness to learn and stay updated with industry trends and advancements
Familiarity with standard engineering practices and procedures
