You will be responsible for developing mechanical components, systems, and products from initial concept through detailed design, validation, and production support. The role requires strong CAD capabilities, sound knowledge of engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or product development environment, with knowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and engineering analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and design mechanical or structural components, systems, and products according to project and customer requirements.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and design specifications using CAD software.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and simulations to validate design integrity.
- Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes to achieve the required performance, quality, and cost targets.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable safety requirements, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Support prototype fabrication, product testing, and design validation activities.
- Review test results and implement the necessary design improvements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design records, drawing revisions, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Recommend alternative design solutions to improve product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
- Able to interpret and prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) will be an added advantage.
