Job summary

Lumileds seeks a senior Database Administrator for its Manufacturing IT Department in Penang. You will administer Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL databases, tuning for performance and ensuring global availability, while engaging with users to understand requirements.

This role involves backups, DR design, data migrations, and collaboration with developers in a fast-paced, global environment at Lumileds Penang campus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in database administration and architecture (Oracle and MSSQL).
• Expert debugging and performance optimization knowledge.
• Analyze and tune SQL queries and database objects to improve performance.
• Analyze execution plans and identify opportunities for indexing and design improvements.
• Work with developers to troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Perform database performance monitoring, analysis and optimization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Provide 24x7 support and ensure database availability.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL and Materialized views; data backup, recovery, security and integrity.
• DB setup, upgrade and patching; capacity monitoring; data migrations when required.

Responsibilities
