Job summary

UPS is seeking a Brokerage Officer in Penang to coordinate import/export customs clearances with customers, authorities, and carriers. You will ensure compliant, timely processing and maintain clear documentation while supporting improvements in service quality.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in customs brokerage, strong English communication, and proficient MS Office skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate status updates.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business admin or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor daily import and export customs clearance activities.
• Liaise with customers, customs authorities, government agencies, carriers and internal teams.
• Track shipment status and follow up on clearances, permits and exceptions.
• Ensure timely submission of customs documents and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and resolve shipment, clearance and documentation issues promptly.
• Prepare operational reports and shipment status updates.
• Maintain accurate records and filing of customs documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders via email, phone, meetings.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
