Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd is hiring for a construction commercial management role based in Malaysia. You will conduct quantity take-offs, prepare cost estimates, monitor budgets, and manage claims and final accounts, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

The role requires 3–8 years of experience in construction commercial management and strong knowledge of local valuation procedures, cost control, and risk management in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction commercial management, quantity surveying, cost estimation, or related fields.
• Familiar with measurement and valuation procedures for building projects (high-rise residential, industrial).
• Strong cost verification and commercial claims submission skills.
• Know-how of Malaysia's local construction commercial environment and coordination with subcontractors/consultants.
• Understanding of cost control, cost analysis and project risk management.

Responsibilities

• Take-off quantities and prepare cost plans for budgets
• Monitor material usage and project costs against budgets
• Prepare monthly progress claims and subcontractor interim payments
• Evaluate variations and prepare supporting documentation
• Compile final accounts and negotiate settlements
• Assist in tendering with cost estimates and BOQ
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients and suppliers
• Report budget overruns and propose mitigations
