Job summary

Hempel A/S in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Coating Advisor to provide expert technical guidance on coatings, support customers, and collaborate with sales and operations to ensure high service levels across projects, ships, and refineries.

You will assess customer needs, recommend products, deliver practical field support, handle complaints, monitor site work, record deviations, and coach junior staff, traveling as needed while upholding safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum ITE or GCE 'O' with a pass in English.
• NACE 2/3 and FROSIO 2/3 certifications.
• At least 3 years of experience delivering services or coatings in shipyards, shops, refineries, or plants.
• Strong customer focus and orientation.
• Able to travel on short notice and hold a valid driving license.
• Good English written and spoken with reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and support on coatings to customers.
• Work with sales to deliver agreed service levels.
• Deliver service performance by monitoring site work and reporting deviations.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend right products.
• Assist in timely complaint handling and resolution.
• Advise on application and performance concerns in consultation with sales.
• Analyze problems and implement coating solutions.
• Assist in coaching and development of junior staff.
