Job summary

HIMA Group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our global IT team in Malaysia. You will manage LAN/WAN networks, server virtualization, cloud services on Azure, and security aligned with ISO 27001.

The role demands hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Kubernetes (Docker), and backup systems, with strong problem-solving and cross‑team collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years in infrastructure, systems or cloud operations with hands-on experience in at least two domains.
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewall rules, VPN) – must‑have.
• Hands-on with VMware vSphere/vCenter or Microsoft Hyper-V (desirable).
• Working with Azure infrastructure services (VMs, Storage, VNet, NSG) – must‑have.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker – desirable.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions and restore testing.
• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash or Python).
• ITIL‑centric ITSM environment experience.
• Understanding ISO 27001 related to infrastructure.
• Project Management fundamentals.
• Ability to document configurations, diagrams, SOPs clearly.
• Strong troubleshooting and cross-time-zone collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls and VPN connections for availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents at Level 2 and 3, escalating to vendors when necessary.
• Support network segmentation, VLAN configuration and access control policies.
• Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments (VMware/Hyper‑V) including provisioning and patching.
• Monitor server health, resource utilization and capacity to prevent outages.
• Manage hypervisor platforms and VM lifecycle across server farms (VMware/Azure).
• Operate and maintain backup solutions and ensure recovery objectives are met.
• Enforce infrastructure security standards including patch management and hardening baselines.
• Support ISO 27001 compliance activities related to infrastructure.
