Job summary

SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION MALAYSIA BERHAD is seeking a Senior Client Manager to lead client outreach, onboarding and periodic reviews, collaborating with RM/ARM teams to ensure smooth operations across facilities and cross-border onboarding.

You will handle loan facilities, documentation, and negotiations, drive utilization, oversee KYC reviews and ensure adherence to internal policies while maintaining high service standards for corporate clients in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in business administration, accounting, finance, economics or related discipline.
• Possess a qualified degree in related field; at least 15 years of corporate banking related experience and/or customer service and marketing-related skillset.

Responsibilities

• Drive utilisation and be in constant communication with clients to address their operational needs. Close collaboration with product teams and back-office teams.
• Preparing and issuing facility letters for new facilities and/ or renewals, as necessary.
• Work closely with legal counsels (internal and/or external) and RM teams on documentation. Facilitate negotiation with clients and/or Facility Agents and obtain necessary approvals from the appropriate stakeholders.
• Streamlining documentation and operational processes, for better efficiency and meeting clients’ expectations whilst preserving the bank’s interests.
• Taking charge of client on-boarding and ensuring timely KYC reviews.
• Monitor clients’ accounts conduct and escalation any anomaly to the relevant RM team and/or management.
• Support Local Relationship Manager (LRM)/ Global Relationship Manager (GRM) to manage client relationships and facilitate deal execution (including documentation) within SMBC network for both inbound and outbound business.
• Assist RM team in preparation of sales pitch and marketing materials.
• Join RM for customer visit/ site visit on a periodic basis.
• Adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Providing cross-cover for Business Support team .
