Job summary

Fragomen in Malaysia is seeking an immigration subject matter expert to ensure accurate and timely processing of cases. You will provide technical immigration guidance to team members, strategic immigration advice and compliance services to the Firm’s client base, manage clients’ expectations and escalations.

You will review instructions, identify key issues, prioritize workload, and maintain strong client relationships through meetings and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in immigration.
• Possess strong knowledge of procedural requirements for Malaysia visa types.
• Good facilitation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage client expectations and escalations.

Responsibilities

• Review instructions and information for each new case, identify key issues and address them with the client.
• Demonstrate excellence in managing complex cases and prioritize workload to ensure timely output.
• Provide guidance using extensive knowledge of business immigration matters.
• Strengthen and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders and assist with client meetings and reviews.
• Work with clients to perform intake of cases, troubleshoot issues and establish case strategy.
• Proactively address client escalations and provide accurate reporting.
• Perform duties requiring specialized knowledge in employment-based immigration matters.
• Adhere to firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure compliance (e.g., mandatory training).

About the role

This position requires you to be an immigration subject matter expert to ensure that all cases are processed in an accurate and timely manner. You will provide technical immigration guidance to team members, strategic immigration advice and compliance services to the Firm’s client base, manage clients’ expectations and escalations.

Key responsibilities

• Review instructions and information for each new case, identify key issues that may impact immigration formalities and address these with the client.
• Demonstrate excellence in managing complex cases and ensuring team’s work output is accurate and timely by prioritizing cases and monitoring workload.
• Provide guidance using extensive knowledge of business immigration case matters.
• Strengthen and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders in client accounts, contribute to client meetings and business reviews and assist with the successful delivery of the team’s output of work.
• Work with clients to perform intake of cases, troubleshooting issues and establishing case strategy.
• Proactively address client escalations and provide accurate and relevant client reporting.
• Perform a wide range of varied case related duties requiring specialized knowledge and skills in employment-based immigration matters.
• Adhere to documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance (e.g., complete mandatory training such as Data Privacy, follow Client Protocols, etc.).
