Job summary

MindPec Solutions seeks a Senior Backend Developer with Java and Scrum Master experience to join its digital banking technology team. You will design, build, and maintain Java-based backend services, REST APIs, and microservices in a hybrid technical and Agile delivery setting.

The role combines hands-on Java development with Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, and delivery coordination across developers, QA, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java backend development experience.
• Proficiency with Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of OOP concepts and software design.
• Experience with SQL relational databases.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

Senior Backend Developer – Java Spring + Scrum (Digital Banking)

About the Role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer with Scrum Master experience to join a technology team supporting enterprise banking applications.

This is a hybrid technical and Agile delivery role. The ideal candidate should have a strong hands-on background in Java backend development while also having practical experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coordinating development teams, and managing delivery activities.

This is not a pure Scrum Master position. Strong Java backend development experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend applications.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Work with Spring / Spring Boot and enterprise application frameworks.
• Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, code reviews, and production support.
• Integrate backend services with databases and other enterprise systems.
• Analyse technical requirements and propose scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot application issues and support root-cause analysis.
• Ensure application quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
• Facilitate Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective sessions.
• Support backlog refinement and sprint planning with Product Owners and development teams.
• Track sprint progress, delivery commitments, risks, dependencies, and impediments.
• Identify and remove blockers affecting the development team.
• Coordinate between Developers, QA, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
• Monitor team progress and Agile delivery metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement within the team.
• Provide delivery updates and elevate risks/issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Promote effective Agile/Scrum practices across the development team.

Mandatory Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software development principles.
• Experience with SQL / relational databases.
• Experience with microservices or enterprise application architecture.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and SDLC practices.
• Practical experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Previous experience acting as a Scrum Master, Agile Lead, Technical Lead, or similar delivery role.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or large-scale enterprise applications is highly preferred.
• Candidates with experience working on banking applications, digital banking, payment systems, financial platforms, or other mission-critical enterprise systems will have an advantage.
