Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA/Testers, DevOps Engineers, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities include building Java/Java EE/Spring Boot apps, RESTful APIs, microservices, and collaborating across teams to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or enterprise environments is an advantage.

• Prepare technical documentation and support system/application documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

We are looking for a Mid-Level Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA/Testers, DevOps Engineers, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java / Java EE / Spring Boot.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Integrate applications with databases, third-party systems, and external APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and application defects.
• Collaborate with QA teams during SIT, UAT, and production releases.
• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.
• Prepare technical documentation and support system/application documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support application maintenance, enhancements, and production deployment activities.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Java 8/11/17+.
• Good knowledge of Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Git and source-code management.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle.
• Knowledge of JUnit / Mockito or other testing frameworks.
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar DevOps technologies is an advantage.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
