Job summary

Tentacle Tech is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our on-site contract team in Malaysia. You will design, develop, and maintain critical enterprise components in a fast-paced banking-related environment, working with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The role emphasizes strong Java/J2SE skills, WebLogic/Tomcat experience, and a solid understanding of TCP/IP, sockets, and SOAP/JSON. Excellent English communication is essential for success in this team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of technology experience, including at least 5 years in hands-on technical roles.
• Strong hands-on Java/J2SE expertise and enterprise-grade design skills.
• Experience with WebLogic, Tomcat, and SQL Server 2022 is required or advantageous.
• Excellent written and spoken English for stakeholder communication.

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer/Software Programmer to join a dynamic technology team within the finance sector. In this onsite contract role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining critical application components, working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Key responsibilities

• Define development objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality


• Design and develop application components, setting priorities and expectations throughout the development lifecycle


• Determine appropriate design methodologies, tools, and programming languages to deliver solutions


• Recommend system solutions by evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of custom development versus purchase alternatives


• Coordinate requirements, schedules, and activities to complete applications development, contributing actively in team meetings


• Troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms


• Support end users by developing clear documentation and assistance tools

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field


• Minimum 7 years of technology experience, including at least 5 years in hands-on technical roles


• Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2SE (compulsory), with knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, socket programming, Java threads, and SOAP architecture


• Experience with JSON development, Windows batch scripting, Oracle Weblogic, Apache Tomcat, and SQL Server 2022; exposure to DotNet is an advantage


• Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills


• Excellent English oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Prior experience in the banking or financial domain is an added advantage
