Job summary

KTEC SDN BHD (KC ONG) in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Assembly Technician / Assembly Engineer who is hands-on, responsible and capable of working independently to support mechanical assembly and fabrication projects.

You will perform mechanical assembly, read drawings, fabricate jigs and tooling, and travel to customer sites for installation and troubleshooting, collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, jig and fixture, fabrication.
• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Familiar with basic hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Good mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and take responsibility for assigned jobs.
• Willing to travel to customer sites when required.
• Good attitude, responsible and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of equipment, components, jig and fixtures.
• Assembly and adjust mechanical part according to drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate and modify assembly jig, fixture and tooling.
• Perform fitting, drilling, tapping, grinding and other basic mechanical works when required.
• Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure proper fit and function.
• Travel to customer sites to perform installation, troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Communicate with customers and assist in resolving mechanical/assembly issues.
• Work closely with engineers and the project team to complete projects.
• Perform final adjustment and functional testing before delivery.
• Handle packing and preparation of fabricated parts/components for delivery.
