Secret Recipe Cakes & Cafe Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Area Manager to lead café operations across outlets in Malaysia. You will guide the teams, uphold brand standards, and drive financial performance while ensuring superior guest experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive F&B knowledge, and travel across the country with flexibility for weekend work to support rapid growth of the brand.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in F&B/hospitality is required.
• 8+ years in supervisory roles with 3+ years in management.
• Experience in cafes or hospitality operations is preferred.
• Ability to coach and lead diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee café operations across outlets to uphold standards and financial performance.
• Recruit staff and run recruitment drives/events to ensure sufficient manpower.
• Ensure SOPs are implemented in collaboration with Area/Operations teams.
• Monitor inventory and records for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Develop and drive operational initiatives across all outlets.
• Analyse market trends and advise refurbishments/remodeling as needed.
• Lead and coach teams to meet targets; monitor sales, costs and profitability.
• Travel across Malaysia to supervise outlets; weekend/public holiday work may be required.

Job description

Senior Area Manager with overall responsibility for the full spectrum of the café outlets operations, brand image and financial performance of the Brand as assigned. Uphold and lead the team with vision, mission and direction, mentoring and coaching to the Area Manager and Cafe Manager to maximize long-term sales and profit potential of each café within the assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

Responsible and accountable to the operational standards and excellence for all assigned café outlets - timely visitation, audits and effective communication to ensure standard

Responsible for the recruitment of new staffs and recruitment project/event to ensure sufficient level of manpower available at assigned outlets

Work closely with Area Manager, Café Manager, Operation Team, Supporting Team and Top Management Team in ensuring the S.O.P. guidelines are implemented

Monitor operation and inventory records to ensure information given are correct and compliant to company procedures and policies

Develop and drive company operational initiatives and ensure that the efforts are communicated and implemented at all levels

Analyze market trends, buyer behavior and recommend appropriate refurbishment plan and/or remodeling of the café image.

Monitor and ensure the conduct of various operational and compliance audits across area outlets meet the Secret Recipe Standard Operation Procedures

Set forthcoming monthly targets for sales turnover, food cost, labor cost, operating expenses and monitor closely to ensure the targets are met

Accurately project and control all P&L line items, responsible for the overall financial and business performance of Secret Recipe café outlets in the assigned territory

Provide strategic leadership and management capabilities to support business growth of various café outlets within the assigned geographical location

About you

Possess at least a Professional Certificate or Diploma in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Hotel Management or equivalent

At least 8 years working experience as supervisory role in similar industry with a minimum of 3 years spent in managerial capacity handling a specific area/district/territory/region

Proficient in full spectrum of F&B business, understand entire process of operating and managing café outlets

Able to coach, lead and manage a diverse group of workforces

Possess exceptional communication skills to maintain good relationship with diverse staffs and customers

Possess leadership qualities to lead, communicate and motivate the team towards meeting and exceeding the goals and objectives

Self-discipline and self-motivated with dynamic personality to always strive for better result

Able to use analytical approach including benchmarking and other statistical tools to identify, decide and solve problems

Accountable to reassignment, relocation and travel throughout Malaysia to ensure effective monitoring of all outlet operations

May be required to work on weekends and public holidays
