Job summary

Cepheid seeks a Sr. Manager, APAC Instrument Operations in Penang, Malaysia, responsible for leading the APAC Instruments team across planning, cost management, and manufacturing readiness. You will drive operations projects, process standardization, and regional execution in a high-volume setting.

The role reports to the Instrument Operations Manager within Global Instrument Operations and Global Supply Chain, and requires deep manufacturing and supply chain expertise in a Danaher environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations, operations management, industrial engineering, supply chain, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing the full operational performance of a manufacturing or production line, including capacity planning, production scheduling, labor utilization, quality performance, and delivery execution.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and sustaining manufacturing operational processes, SOPs, work instructions, and operational control systems within a regulated production environment.
• Minimum 4 years of direct people management experience overseeing manufacturing, operations, production, or technical teams.
• Experience performing product cost analysis, cost rollups, BOM review, variance analysis, and cost performance monitoring.
• Experience managing excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory programs, including analysis, disposition planning, reserve management, and reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead resource allocation, project prioritization, and execution planning across APAC Instrument Operations to align project portfolios with capacities and targets.
• Develop, implement, and standardize operational processes, governance, and performance management for cross-functional execution.
• Generate and present executive-level reviews using KPI dashboards, metrics, and risk analyses to track progress.
• Serve as APAC representative for enterprise and regional projects, ensuring adherence to management requirements and readiness criteria.
• Establish and manage pilot line manufacturing processes and controls to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and capacity objectives.
• Apply cost modeling and supply chain risk practices to identify opportunities for product cost optimization and performance improvements.
• Manage execution with APAC contract manufacturers and onsite facilities with planning of labor, capacity, equipment, safety, and policies.
