Job summary

Epicon Berhad, a leading construction and property development company in Malaysia, seeks a Senior Accounts Executive to join the finance team in Petaling Jaya. The role covers full set accounting, monthly statements, and project accounting for construction projects.

The successful candidate will be experienced in GL/AR/AP, payroll reconciliations, and detailed financial reporting, working in a fast-paced environment with the project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of working experience in construction/property development is preferred.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office is essential.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and multi-task effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Update monthly management accounts with detailed listings and analysis for review.
• Verify and ensure proper authorization on all accounting transactions.
• Oversee GL, AR and AP modules and ensure accuracy of entries.
• Review transactions done by subordinates and ensure accurate data entry.
• Prepare reconciliations including payroll, inter-company balances, AR, AP, and bank reconciliations.
• File accounting documents timely and accurately.
• Prepare WIP schedules for contract accounting and subcontractor statements.
• Update project status reports and liaise with Contract and Project teams on certification.
• Prepare payment vouchers and cheques to ensure timely payments per policy.

About the role

Epicon Berhad, a dynamic construction and property development company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accounts Executive to join our thriving finance team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in managing the financial operations of our construction and property development projects, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our accounting processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Update monthly management accounts with detailed listing and analysis for management review.
• Verify and ensure proper authorization on all accounting related transactions.
• Oversee GL, AR and AP modules.
• Reviewing all the transactions done by subordinates and ensure subordinates have keyed into system correctly.
• To prepare all the reconciliations including payroll, inter-co balances, AR, AP, bank and etc.
• Responsible for filing the accounting documentations in timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare Work In Progress(“WIP”) schedule for contract accounting.
• Prepare sub-contractor statement and reconciliation.
• Update project status report and liaise with Contract and Project teams on the project certification.
• Prepare payment voucher and cheque to ensure the payments are made on time and adhered to payment policy.
• Perform any other duty & responsibility which the immediate superior or the company may assign from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of working experience; relevant in construction/property development industry will have added advantage.
• Have knowledge and hand-on experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office is essential.
• Able to work in fast pace, multi-tasking and high-volume environment.
• Good team player, interaction skills, proactive and communication skills.
