Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ICAS/CPA Malaysia) preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full set of accounts and prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet).
• Process AR/AP, invoicing, GL, payments, inter-company balances, audit schedules and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for construction/development projects.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, cash flow analyses.
• Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to provide financial insights.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
• Liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
• Input transactions into accounting software and maintain debtors/creditors.
• Handle petty cash issuance and reimbursements.

SENIOR ACCOUNTS & FINANCE EXECUTIVE/EXECUTIVE (CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPER)

PINNACLE GROUP SDN. BHD. is seeking a Senior Accounts & Finance Executive to join our finance team on a full-time basis in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a key position within our accounting and financial reporting function, specifically tailored for the construction and developer sector. As Senior Accounts & Finance Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our construction and development projects, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and project success.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining full set of accounts, inclusive producing Financial Statement such as Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet
• Prepare, processing and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, general ledger, payments, inter-company balances, audit schedule and bank reconciliations
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, internal and company policies
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process for construction and property development projects
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, other financial planning activities and cash flow analyses
• Collaborate with internal departments, project managers, site supervisors, other internal and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Providing support and guidance to the finance team, as needed. Supervise and mentor junior members of the finance team, as required
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
• Generating financial reports, statements, and analysis to support management decision-making
• Liaising with internal departments, external stakeholders, such as auditors and tax authorities
• Allocating accounting codes and input the transactions into the accounting software system
• Maintaining debtors/ creditors accounts/ balance reconciliation and dealing with debtors/ creditors on accounts relating matters
• In-charge the issuance and reimbursement of petty cash
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by superior/ head of department

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Professional qualification equivalent
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAS, CPA Malaysia, or equivalent membership is highly desirable
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Substantial experience working within the construction and development industry, with knowledge of project accounting and contract accounting principles
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly those used in the construction sector
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and taxation requirements relevant to construction companies
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders at various levels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines during period-end closing processes
