Job summary

Ying Hai Development Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah seeks a highly experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, strengthen internal controls and support large-scale construction projects.

The successful candidate will maintain accurate records, prepare monthly statements, monitor project costs and liaise with auditors, tax agents and authorities. A strong background in construction accounting and ACCA/CPA is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Experience in construction accounting and project costing.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounts, general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliation and monthly financial closing.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS), taxation requirements, SST, LHDN and statutory compliance.
• Familiarity with Malaysia's e-Invoicing requirements and relevant tax documentation.
• Strong internal controls and audit readiness.
• Proficiency in AutoCount.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations and maintain accurate records.
• Strengthen internal controls and support financial management of large-scale construction projects.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, cash flow forecasts, budgets and financial reports for management.
• Monitor project expenditure, construction costs, subcontractor payments, supplier credit terms and outstanding liabilities.
• Handle progress claims, retention sums, advance payments, variation orders (VO), subcontractor claims and project-related financial transactions.
• Manage full-set accounts, general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliation and monthly financial closing.
• Prepare project-based financial reports, monitor actual costs against budgets and identify potential financial risks.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries and relevant authorities.
• Manage supplier payment schedules, credit facilities, bank guarantees, performance bonds and project cash flow.
