Job summary

Lead Holding Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is seeking an enthusiastic Accountant to join our growing team. This full-time role supports financial management, bookkeeping, and reporting across client accounts.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance with 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and a high level of integrity. MASB consideration is a plus, and payroll experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in small practice.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
• Professional communication skills with clients and internal team members.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise workload.
• MASB certification or studying towards ACCA/CPA is an advantage.
• Experience with payroll processing is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records for assigned accounts, including reconciliations, journal entries, and ledger management.
• Prepare financial statements, trial balances, and other accounting reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
• Liaise with clients to gather financial information, clarify accounting issues, and provide timely updates on account status.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance matters, including compilation of necessary documentation.
• Perform bank reconciliations and identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure all documentation is properly filed and organised.
• Assist in training and supporting junior staff members as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and recommend process improvements.
