Job summary

HWANG SHENG CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to maintain accurate financial records and support the finance team in Kuching, Sarawak. This full-time role focuses on day-to-day transactions, month-end close, and ensuring financial integrity across the construction business.

You will manage invoices, PO processing, bank reconciliations, and reporting, while assisting with audits and budgets. Relevant accounting qualifications and 2–3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting is compulsory.
• 2–3 years of experience as Accounts Officer or similar role.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles in construction or project-based environments.
• Strong numerical accuracy and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
• Reconciling bank statements and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• Preparing and maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end financial close procedures.
• Generating financial reports and statements as required by management.
• Managing petty cash and ensuring proper documentation and approval procedures.
• Liaising with vendors, clients and internal departments to resolve billing and payment queries.
• Maintaining organised financial records and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Assisting with audit preparations and providing documentation to external auditors as needed.
• Supporting the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
