Job summary

Golden Palm Wood (Ipoh) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the full set of accounts for a manufacturing environment. You will oversee AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations and month-end closing, while ensuring accurate journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets records.

Responsibilities include manufacturing costing, inventory, WIP, production costs, FOREX transactions, e-Invoicing, payroll accounting and statutory contributions.

Qualifications

• Mandarin-speaking is mandatory.
• Proficient in full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL.
• Experience in manufacturing accounting and costing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and schedules.
• Manage fixed asset accounting: registrations, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting: inventory, RM, WIP, FG and costing analysis.
• Monitor costing and variance analysis: materials, labour, overhead.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Record FOREX transactions and month-end revaluations.
• Handle e-Invoice processes and ensure compliance.
• Assist with tax matters and audit documentation.
• Payroll accounting and statutory contributions (PCB/MTD, EPF, SOCSO, EIS).
• Cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliation and payment planning.
• Ensure compliance with standards and company policies.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, banks and authorities.
• Willing to take on ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Manager.

Job description

Handle the full set of accounts for a manufacturing company, covering AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, payment processing and month-end closing.

Prepare and maintain full set accounts, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and financial schedules.

Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset registration, additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, asset reconciliation and maintenance of the fixed asset register.

Handle manufacturing accounting, including inventory, raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, production costs and costing analysis.

Monitor costing and variance analysis, including material, labour and overhead costs.

Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules.

Handle foreign currency (FOREX) transactions, including recording foreign-currency invoices and payments, exchange rate differences and month-end foreign currency revaluation.

Manage e-Invoice processes, ensuring invoices are issued, submitted and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements.

Assist with tax-related matters and audit requirements, including preparing supporting documents for external auditors and tax agents.

Handle payroll-related accounting and statutory contributions, including the preparation and submission of PCB/MTD, EPF, SOCSO and EIS.

Perform cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliation and payment planning.

Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and company policies.

Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, tax agents, banks and relevant authorities as required.

Willing to take on ad-hoc tasks and other duties assigned by the Manager from time to time.

Mandarin-speaking is mandatory, as the position requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking management, colleagues, customers and suppliers.
