Misarma Marine Sdn Bhd is seeking a Security Guard to safeguard company premises, personnel and assets. You will monitor entry/exit points, patrol designated areas, observe and report suspicious activities, and assist in emergencies in accordance with management instructions.
The incumbent may perform ad-hoc tasks as directed. Bahasa Malaysia is required; basic English is a plus. Flexibility for shifts, weekends, or holidays may be needed to support marine operations.
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of company premises, employees, and assets. This includes monitoring entry and exit points, patrolling designated areas, observing and reporting suspicious activities, and assisting in emergency situations. The role requires vigilance, discipline, and the ability to respond promptly to any security-related incidents or instructions given by the superior or Management.
In addition, the incumbent shall perform other ad-hoc tasks or assignments as directed by the superior or Management from time to time.
Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, contractors, and clients.
Record visitor and vehicle details (e.g., name, car number) in the daily visitor logbook.
Answer telephone calls and provide necessary information during and after business hours.
Monitor vessel berthing, fresh water bunkering, and workshop activities during duty hours.
Patrol wharf and workshop areas to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access by boat or other means.
Monitor fresh water supply to vessels — record meter readings before and after supply, indicate receiving vessels, and issue delivery orders for records.
Maintain cleanliness of the office grounds and security posts, including the toilet area.
Switch on building and workshop lights daily at 7:00 p.m.
Report on daily activities and any irregularities, such as equipment damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual incidents.
Notify the Police or Fire Department in case of emergencies such as fire, theft, or security breach.
Restrict and deny access to unauthorized personnel.
Report immediately any security breaches or suspicious activity to the Marine Operation Coordinator.
Experience: At least 4 year of relevant working experience in security operations or a related field.
Language: Ability to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia; basic English communication is an added advantage.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic security procedures, patrolling activities, access control, incident reporting, and safety protocols.
Good observation skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to write clear and concise reports.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Reliable, disciplined, and trustworthy in handling company property and information.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Physically fit and able to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required.
