Job summary

TDK Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is recruiting for a Security Guard or EHS Security Supervisor at our Johor Bahru site. You will control access, patrol the plant, monitor CCTV, and enforce safety rules across Red/Yellow/Green zones.

Responsibilities include PTW checks, emergency response leadership, incident reporting, and collaboration with infra teams to keep alarms and cameras functional. OSH or security qualifications and 1–2 years of manufacturing security experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires OSH certification or diploma/degree in OSH or Security Management.
• 1–2 years of experience in EHS or Security in manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of Act 127, OSHA, Private Agencies Act and DOSH requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise guards and enforce access control for zones and entry points.
• Conduct day/night patrols and ensure PTW compliance and proper PPE.
• Operate CCTV, manage gate systems, and log visitor activity.
• Lead emergency drills and coordinate emergency response at the site.
• Check permits to work before, during, and after high-risk tasks.
• Inspect logistics fleet, hazardous materials labeling, and SDS availability.
• Perform environmental rounds assessing air, water, noise, and soil issues.
• Investigate security incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with building infra team to maintain safety devices.
• Assist with any other safety or security tasks as needed.

SECURITY GUARD or EHS SECURITY SUPERVISOR

Access Control: Check all incoming/outgoing vehicles, visitors, and factory transport buses. Issue Visitor Passes and collect signed Exit Passes for employees leaving early.

Zone Enforcement: Restrict entry based on zones: Red Zone (Server Room): Strict NO ENTRY unless escorted by IT staff. Yellow/Green Zones (HR, Finance, Production, Warehouse): Verify before entry.

Patrols & Safety Checks: Conduct regular day/night walking rounds. Verify high-risk tasks have a valid Permit to Work (PTW) displayed and workers wear proper PPE. Stop any unauthorized hot work.

Inspections & Housekeeping: Perform random bag and vehicle spot checks on exit. Ensure walkways are clear of hazards and report environmental/safety issues.

Reporting: Write clear incident logs for security breaches. Immediately report emergencies (fire, flood, accidents) and maintain updated emergency contact numbers.

Requirements :

Minimum SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) with Valid Certified Security Guard (CSG) or equivalent PIKM certification. Ability to use handheld radios, operate CCTV, and maintain logbooks.

Disciplined and Punctual, always arrives on time for shifts so the site is never left exposed.

EHS & Security Supervisor Position

Responsibilities :

1. 1. Supervise Security Guards: Supervise the security team, ensure security guards follow Act 27, check IDs correctly, and know exactly what to do during an emergency.
2. 2. Night & Patrol Checks: Patrolling at night, inspect guards are alert and ensure under control.
3. 3. Access & CCTV Control: Manage the cameras, gate systems, and visitor logs. Make sure no one gets in who shouldn't be here and that company goods are protected.
4. 4. Emergency Response (ERT): Lead the Emergency Team during drills or real accidents. If there is a fire or spill at night, security is to lead the team and call 999 immediately.
5. 5. Permit to Work (PTW): Check Permit-to-Work papers before, during & after for any dangerous jobs (welding or working at height). Monitoring site to ensure compliance or wearing the right PPE and staying safe while they work and after finishing (2+2 hot work rules).
6. 6. Logistic Fleet Inspections: Check all trucks coming in or out. Ensure chemicals have the right warning labels and safety data sheets not in dangerous or unauthorized materials.
7. 7. Environmental Rounds: Walk around the site and check the Air, Water, Noise, and Soil. If spot a leak, a bad smell, or strange water in the drains, report it immediately.
8. 8. Accident Investigator: security breach or a theft, a break-in, or a near-miss incident, need to find out what happened and recommend corrective & preventive action.
9. 9. Site Maintenance: Coordinate with the Building infrastructure team to ensure all safety devices (e.g., gates, surveillance camera, lighting, alarms, flood item) are functional and compliant.
10. 10. Other Duties: Help with other safety or security tasks as needed.

Requirements :

• Education: OSH Certification or Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH), Security Management, or equivalent.
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in EHS or Security, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Environmental Health & Safety & Security Knowledge:
  • Good understanding of Act 127 (EQA 1974), Act 514 (OSHA 1994) and the Act 27 (Private Agencies Act 1971). Familiarity with requirements from DOSH, DOE, and local councils (MBJB/SWM).
• Basic ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards would be an advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Able to use Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint for reports. Hands-on experience with CCTV, access control, and other security systems.
• Communication & Discipline: Capable of giving direct orders, managing performance, and holding personnel strictly accountable for any conduct or unsafe failures.
• Flexibility: Able to work night shifts or on a rotation basis. Must be able to lead emergency drills and conduct site inspections at any time.
