Job summary

Merck Life Science in Malaysia is seeking a driven commercial professional to grow sales across analytical chemistry and life science portfolios, implement strategies, and build lasting customer relationships. You will lead opportunities, deliver value-based proposals, and expand market share while collaborating with sales, marketing, product management, and service teams.

The role requires at least 4 years in sales within laboratory or scientific industries and a proven track record of meeting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or business field.
• Minimum 4 years of sales experience in laboratory, analytical, life sciences, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or scientific industries.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience selling analytical instruments, reagents, consumables, workflow solutions, reference materials, laboratory products, or assay solutions is highly preferred.

In this role, you will drive sales growth across assigned Analytical Chemistry and Life Science portfolios, execute commercial strategies, identify new business opportunities, and build strong customer relationships across Malaysia. You will play a critical role in expanding market share, achieving sales targets, and delivering sustainable business growth.

What You Do

Business Growth & Sales Execution

• Drive revenue growth and achieve assigned sales targets across Malaysia.
• Execute sales strategies and territory plans to maximize market penetration and customer engagement.
• Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities into sustainable revenue.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.
• Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular customer visits to understand business needs, challenges, and growth opportunities.
• Develop and present value-based commercial proposals and solutions.
• Drive growth across assigned Analytical Chemistry and Life Science workflow portfolios, with primary focus on Analytical Chemistry solutions.
• Promote workflow-based solutions, reagents, consumables, reference materials, and related products to customers across multiple industries.
• Monitor market trends, customer activities, and competitive dynamics.

Forecasting & Business Reviews

• Provide monthly business updates, forecasts, and opportunity reviews.
• Monitor sales performance and key account developments to support business planning.

Who You Are

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of sales experience within laboratory, analytical, life science, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or scientific industries.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience managing direct accounts and channel partners.
• Experience selling analytical instruments, reagents, consumables, workflow solutions, reference materials, laboratory products, or assay solutions is highly preferred.
