Private Advertiser seeks an experienced professional to own and grow key customer accounts in the tires/auto aftermarket sector. You will develop plans to retain and expand business, understand client needs, and deliver professional after-sales support while coordinating purchasing and stock management with internal teams.
Travel for customer visits may be required; strong relationship management and negotiation skills are essential to optimize margins and cash flow.
This role involves taking ownership of existing customer accounts and building strong, long-term business relationships. You will develop strategies to retain, grow and increase sales from existing customers, understand customer requirements, and provide professional after-sales service. The position also encompasses purchasing and supply management responsibilities, including monitoring sales trends, stock movement and inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability.
Key responsibilities
Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customer accounts
Identify and develop new customer accounts and business opportunities
Understand customer requirements and provide professional after-sales service
Handle customer enquiries, complaints and product-related issues
Follow up on outstanding payments and work closely with the Accounts team to ensure timely collection
Monitor customer purchasing patterns and identify opportunities for additional sales
Conduct customer visits and travel outstation when required
Monitor sales trends, stock movement and inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability
Work closely with Management and Accounts to determineappropriate stock levels and purchasing requirements
Consider sales forecasts, inventory turnover, working capital and available financing when planning purchases
Coordinate and negotiate with overseas suppliers on pricing, product availability, lead time and supply requirements
Monitor purchase orders and follow up closely on shipment and delivery schedules
Identify potential supply issues and work with Management to minimise stock shortages or excessive inventory
Handle defective products and supplier-related issues
Follow up onwarranty claims, replacement goods, credit notes and other supplier claims until resolution
About you
5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in tires and/or automotive aftermarket or distribution
Willing to travel for customer visits and occasional outstation work
Strong understanding of customer relationship management and sales development
Experience in purchasing, inventory planning and supplier management
Experience dealing with overseas suppliers will be a strong advantage
Able to negotiate pricing, supply terms and product-related claims
Good understanding of commercial considerations such as sales margin, stock turnover, credit terms and cash flow
Strong follow-up and organizational skills
Good communication and negotiation skills
Mandarin / Chinese dialect speaking ability is an advantage, particularly when dealing with customers or suppliers
