Job summary

Max Star Builders Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, is seeking a Sales Interior Designer for a hybrid role blending interior design and client-facing sales. You will engage with clients from enquiry and design consultation through quotation, project confirmation and coordination with our operations team.

The position involves design concept development, mood boards, 2D layouts, 3D visualisations and presenting proposals while coordinating with the project team.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architectural Design or related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• 1–3 years of interior design, renovation or sales experience would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, Photoshop or similar design software.
• Good knowledge of residential renovation, materials, finishes and basic construction.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in presenting design concepts to clients.
• Willing to meet clients and conduct site visits.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel for client meetings/site visits.

Responsibilities

Max Star Builders Sdn Bhd is a professional interior design and construction company based in Penang, specialising in residential and commercial renovation, interior design, 3D visualisation, upgrading works and construction.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Sales Interior Designer to join our team.

This is a hybrid role suitable for a candidate who enjoys both interior design and client-facing sales. You will be involved from the initial client enquiry and design consultation through to quotation, project confirmation and coordination with our operations team.

Job Responsibilities

Interior Design & Design Consultation

Meet and communicate with clients to understand their lifestyle, requirements, budget and preferred design style.

Provide basic interior design consultation and renovation recommendations.

Prepare mood boards, space planning, material selections and design concepts.

Provide details/assist ID for preparing 2D layouts, 3D visualisations and presentation materials for clients.

Provide practical and cost-effective renovation solutions.

Provide details/assist ID for revision of designs according to client feedback and project requirements.

Keep up to date with current interior design trends, materials, finishes and renovation products.

Attend to renovation and interior design enquiries through WhatsApp, phone calls and other channels.

Arrange and conduct client meetings and site visits.

Present design concepts, renovation proposals and quotations to clients.

Understand client budgets and recommend suitable renovation solutions.

Follow up with potential clients and maintain good customer relationships.

Assist in converting design enquiries into confirmed renovation projects.

Achieve individual sales and project conversion targets.

Maintain proper records of client enquiries, quotations, design revisions and sales documentation.

Project Coordination

Work closely with the Sales, Operations and Design teams to ensure smooth project handover.

Coordinate design information and client requirements with the project/operation team.

Ensure approved designs and client requirements are properly documented before project commencement.

Assist the project team during the renovation process when design clarification is required.

Conduct site visits when necessary to ensure design requirements are properly communicated.

Requirements
