Job summary

Balluff APAC in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, is seeking a Sales Engineer who will engage with customers to understand automation needs, propose sensor and automation solutions, and support the sales cycle from inquiry through order closure. You will prepare and deliver technical presentations, conduct product demonstrations, and provide pre- and post-sales technical support.

The role requires coordinating with internal teams, responding to inquiries, and maintaining relationships with customers.

Qualifications

Role Description

• The Sales Engineer role is a full‑time hybrid position based in Subang Jaya, with flexibility for partial work from home.
• The Sales Engineer will engage with customers to understand their automation needs, propose suitable sensor and automation solutions, and support the sales cycle from initial inquiry through to order closure.
• Daily responsibilities include preparing and delivering technical presentations, conducting product demonstrations, and providing pre‑and post‑sales technical support.
• The role involves coordinating with internal technical and commercial teams, responding to customer inquiries, and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• The Sales Engineer will also track market trends, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to sales forecasts and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical automation solutions.
• Proficiency in Sales and Customer Service, including relationship building, opportunity management, and after‑sales support.
• Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Background or education in engineering, automation, electronics, or a related technical field.
• Experience in industrial automation, sensor technology, or related industries is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and travel to customer sites as needed.
• Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and organizational skills, with a focus on customer‑oriented solutions.
• Proficiency with standard office software and basic CRM tools for managing customer information and sales activities.
