We are looking for an experienced Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support a demand-generation program for a leading global enterprise technology company across Australia and New Zealand.
The SDR will engage targeted business accounts, identify relevant IT infrastructure requirements, build conversations with IT decision-makers, qualify potential opportunities and handover qualified leads to the client sales team for further progression.
The role requires strong B2B telephone engagement skills, the ability to conduct credible business and technology conversations, and prior experience engaging senior IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound engagement with targeted organizations across Australia and New Zealand.
- Engage accounts primarily through telephone outreach, supported by email and other approved communication channels.
- Connect with relevant IT and technology stakeholders, including IT Managers, Infrastructure Managers, IT Directors, CIOs, CTOs and other relevant decision makers.
- Position enterprise infrastructure solutions based on the customer's environment, business requirements and potential technology priorities.
- Use available account intelligence as a conversation starter to create relevant and contextual customer discussions.
- Understand the customer's existing environment, current challenges, planned initiatives and potential buying timelines.
- Qualify opportunities based on agreed campaign qualification criteria.
- Identify key stakeholders and understand the customer's decision-making process.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of customer interactions, qualification information and next steps within the designated CRM system.
- Handover qualified opportunities to the client sales team with clear notes and relevant account intelligence.
- Follow up on client-provided accounts as well as whitespace accounts identified for the campaign.
Qualifications
- 2- 4 years of experience in B2B inside sales, tele-sales, sales development or demand generation.
- Experience engaging customers in Australia and/or New Zealand is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience selling or generating demand for enterprise technology, IT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, software or related B2B technology solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to engage IT and technology decision-makers through outbound calling.
- Experience qualifying business opportunities rather than simply generating appointments.
- Comfortable conducting discovery conversations around customer requirements, current environment, business challenges and planned technology initiatives.
- Experience working with CRM systems and maintaining structured sales/lead records.
