Job summary

Forbo Siegling Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to identify and expand business opportunities, visit customers, and build strong relationships across the territory. You will develop new accounts, understand applications, and align technical solutions with commercial needs.

Ideal candidates have engineering education, some sales exposure, and are willing to travel regularly, with Chinese language skills considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or related technical field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is an added advantage.

• Internship exposure in industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments encouraged.
• Experience in technical sales, application engineering, or manufacturing is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
• Possess a valid driving license and own transport.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, customer visits, networking, referrals, market research and other lead-generation activities.
• Develop new customer accounts and expand the company's customer base within the assigned territory.
• Regularly visit existing and potential customers to understand their applications, technical requirements and future business opportunities.
• Develop a good understanding of the company's products, services and technical capabilities.
• Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate products or solutions based on their technical and commercial requirements.
• Provide technical explanations, product presentations and application recommendations to customers.
• Work closely with fabrication team to address customer technical requirements and enquiries.
• Prepare technical proposals and sales presentations according to customer specifications.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, production requirements and delivery schedules.
• Follow up on quotations, projects and sales opportunities and actively convert them into orders.

About you

Able to understand customer specifications, technical requirements and product applications

Willing to travel regularly within the assigned territory

Possess a valid driving license and own transportation
