Job summary

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading data centre construction and engineering company to hire a Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) with project locations in Kapar (Klang) or Banting, Selangor, Malaysia, depending on relocation preferences.

You will support the implementation of HSE policies, conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe construction environment on mission-critical data centre projects. Mandarin communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• Green Book or Yellow Book certification preferred.
• Experience in construction, MEP, EPC, or data center projects.
• Mandarin speaking essential; English on-site communication.

Responsibilities

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading data centre construction and engineering company to hire a Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) to support large-scale data centre construction projects, with project locations available in either Kapar (Klang) or Banting, Selangor, Malaysia, depending on the candidate’s preferred relocation location.

About the Role

The Challenge

Play a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant construction environment by supporting the implementation of EHS policies, conducting site inspections, monitoring work activities, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout project execution.

What You Will Do

• Support the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across construction activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices and adherence to site safety standards.
• Investigate incidents, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and maintain accurate safety records and reports.
• Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training to promote a strong safety culture across the project site.

Who We Are Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in construction, MEP, EPC, industrial, infrastructure, or data center projects.
• Green Book (Registered Safety & Health Officer) or Yellow Book certification is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Malaysian occupational safety regulations, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and contractor safety management.
• Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• Mandarin speaking proficiency is essential, with the ability to communicate effectively in English in a professional and construction site environment.
