Job summary

Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd. is seeking an experienced Safety, Health and Environment (SHE/HSE) professional in Selangor. The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in OSH, at least 2 years of SHE/HSE experience, and relevant certifications.

You will oversee plant safety, conduct audits, and lead training to ensure compliance with local safety laws and ISO standards. You will identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement effective controls, while promoting a safe working

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and update safety compliance manuals and best practices.
• Conduct SHE audits across plants to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead SHE briefings and safety training for plant personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health legislation, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments and implement control measures.
• Display mandatory safety notices and posters to promote awareness among employees.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and monitor corrective/preventive measures to prevent recurrence.

Job description

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant working experience and knowledge of local safety legislation.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE/HSE) role, preferably within the manufacturing or corporate sector.
• Relevant registrations or industry certifications, such as Safety and Health Officer (SHO), Authorised Gas Tester and Entry Supervisor (AGT-ES), or other OSHA-related qualifications, will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with local Occupational Safety and Health legislation, statutory requirements, ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems), and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and update the Best Practice Report Manual by identifying potential safety hazards and recommending appropriate control measures for existing operations.
• Conduct regular SHE audits across Kossan plants to ensure machinery, equipment, work activities, and workplace practices comply with applicable safety and health regulations.
• Conduct SHE briefings and provide safety training, instructions, and guidance to plant personnel to ensure compliance with relevant SHE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health legislation, standards, and procedures by identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards and risks.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments, evaluate associated risks, and implement appropriate control measures to prevent workplace incidents.
• Ensure mandatory SHE notices, safety posters, Do’s and Don’ts guidelines, and policy statements are displayed prominently to promote awareness of employees’ safety rights and responsibilities.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations to establish the sequence of events, identify immediate and root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to address identified root causes, and monitor their effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
