Solara Group is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to implement, monitor and continuously improve our HSE policies across all active projects in Malaysia. You will lead site safety inspections, risk assessments and ensure compliance with DOSH and relevant regulations, while promoting a strong safety culture.

The role requires an SHO with DOSH certification, 3–5 years' experience, and willingness to travel to project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (valid SHO green book/certification).
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience as SHO in telecommunications, construction, utilities, or infrastructure industries.
• Sound knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation and industry best practices.
• Willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across Malaysia.
• Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable taking on responsibilities beyond core HSE scope as a hands-on team member.
• Possess own transport and valid driving license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HSE reporting systems is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the company's HSE policies, procedures, and management systems across all active projects
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments (HIRARC) across project sites
• Ensure compliance with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) requirements, OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act, and other relevant Malaysian regulations
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare investigation reports and corrective/preventive action plans
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel
• Maintain and update safety documentation, permits-to-work, and statutory compliance records
• Liaise with DOSH, local authorities, and client HSE representatives during audits and inspections
• Prepare monthly HSE reports and KPIs for management review
• Support tender and contract requirements relating to safety compliance (e.g. CIDB, client HSE plans)
• Advise project teams on safe work procedures for high-risk activities (working at heights, excavation, confined space, live electrical works, tower climbing)
• Support broader quality, environmental, and operational compliance initiatives as needed
• Assist management with ad-hoc administrative, reporting, and cross-departmental coordination tasks outside strict HSE scope when required
• Help build and maintain a company-wide safety culture through internal communications, campaigns, and training initiatives
