Job summary

Binastra Land Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Safety & Health Officer to join our Kuala Lumpur team. This full-time role focuses on implementing health and safety programmes across construction sites, ensuring compliance with Malaysian legislation and international best practices to protect our workforce.

You will lead inspections, incident investigations, training delivery and stakeholder collaboration with project teams and DOSH to sustain a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
• DOSH certified Safety Officer or international equivalent preferred
• Experience in construction safety and high-rise projects advantageous
• Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (Green Book) with valid registration
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation including OSH Act 1994
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in safety management systems and training delivery
• Ability to use MS Office and safety software systems
• Ability to work independently and with project teams
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

About the role

Binastra Land Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety & Health Officer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all personnel across our construction operations. As Safety & Health Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring comprehensive health and safety programmes that comply with Malaysian legislation and international best practices. This role is integral to protecting our workforce, reducing incidents and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Developing, implementing and maintaining health and safety policies, procedures and programmes in accordance with Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations
• Conducting regular safety inspections, audits and risk assessments across all construction sites and facilities to identify potential hazards
• Investigating workplace incidents, accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Providing safety induction and training to all staff, contractors and visitors, ensuring awareness of site-specific hazards and emergency procedures
• Monitoring workplace conditions and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintaining detailed records of incidents, near-misses, safety training and inspections for regulatory reporting and analysis
• Liaising with external authorities, including the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), to ensure full compliance and support investigations if required
• Advising senior management on health and safety matters, emerging risks and recommendations for continuous improvement
• Promoting a positive safety culture through engagement initiatives and regular communication with all levels of the organisation

What we're looking for

• Qualification in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent professional certification (DOSH certified Safety Officer or International equivalent is preferred)
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Safety & Health Officer, in construction, preferably on high-rise projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian occupational health and safety legislation, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994
• Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (Green Book holder), with valid registration.
• Strong understanding of construction-specific hazards, risk management and incident investigation methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organisation
• Proficiency in health and safety management systems and the ability to develop and deliver training programmes
• Competency in using Microsoft Office applications and health and safety software systems
• Proven ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with project managers, contractors and external stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices
