Job summary

Bake With Yen is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health professional to support safe, compliant operations in Malaysia. You will identify hazards, conduct JSA/HHA, and implement risk controls while ensuring OSHA and DOE compliance across all sites.

The role involves safety inductions, drills, inspections, incident investigations and maintaining records. A DOSH SHO credential and OSH qualifications are required, with 1–2 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing or retail environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
• Registered DOSH Safety and Health Officer (SHO) status, often supported by a DOSH Green Book.
• Experience ranging from entry-level to 1–2 years in manufacturing, retail, logistics or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOE regulations and hazard identification, risk assessment and emergency procedures.

Job description

Support a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace by managing occupational safety and health activities across company operations in Malaysia. This role helps identify and control risks, strengthen safety awareness, and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Environment (DOE) regulations.

Key responsibilities

Ensure company operations comply with applicable national laws, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Environment (DOE) regulations in Malaysia.

Identify workplace hazards, conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA/HHA), and implement effective risk control measures.

Perform regular site safety walkthroughs and inspections of fire and emergency equipment.

Audit environmental management systems and follow up on corrective actions.

Investigate accidents, near-misses and environmental spills to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.

Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, fire drills and emergency response training for staff and contractors.

Exercise stop-work authority when dangerous work conditions or unsafe acts are identified.

Maintain accurate safety, inspection, training and incident investigation records.

Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety, emergency preparedness and environmental performance.

What we're looking for

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.

Registered Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Safety and Health Officer (SHO) status, often supported by a DOSH Green Book

Experience ranging from entry-level junior roles to 1-2 years in manufacturing, retail, logistics or industrial sectors.

Knowledge of workplace hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation and emergency response procedures.

Strong communication and coordination skills when working with staff, contractors and operational teams.

Ability to conduct safety briefings, inspections, audits and practical emergency drills.
