Job summary

Taner Industrial Technology (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an HSSE professional to coordinate and direct occupational health, safety, security and regulatory compliance across our operations in Malaysia. You will promote HSSE awareness, develop and implement the HSSE Action Plan, and provide in-house coaching to ensure employees understand the programs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or related field; DOSH-recognized safety officer certification preferred.
• Experience in safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and delivering safety training.
• Minimum 2 years in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HSSE management system; promote HSSE culture and monitor performance.
• Prepare SWI, JSA, HIRARC and related documents for audits; ensure records are updated.
• Advise management on OSH issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings; lead daily walkabout inspections.
• Attend client sites as Safety Representative when required.

Job description

Accountable for coordinating and directing occupational health, safety, security and regulations.

Promote awareness, improve and implement Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) Action Plan Program.

Provide in-house coaching to assure that all employees are observing, following, and understand the HSSE programs as well as the ability to understand and follow regulatory guidelines and regulations.

Administer Work Safety Health (WSH) policies and coordinate compliance with WSH legal requirements.

Coordinate HSSE management system, promote and develop HSSE culture, measure and monitor HSSE performance.

Recognizes HSSE hazards and control measures and advise on corrective recommendation

Prepare and facilitates HSSE awareness programme.

Monitors and reports all work or operation that violate HSSE procedures, instructions, or activities that would endanger life and property.

Monitor and inspects work activities to ensure that HSSE practices are carried out in all work operations.

Assist to develop and implement HSSE Action Plan.

Responsible for all HSSE accident and/ or incident investigation.

Preparation of Safe Work Instruction (SWI), Job Sheet Analysis (JSA), HIRARC and etc. All documents shall be updated and available during DOSH Audits.

Comply with all DOSH requirements, WSH Manual & Exhibits, Safety Policies & Objectives, OSH Regulation Act 1994, FMA Act 1967, Akta Keselamatan dan Kesihatan 1994 (Akta 514), and other government standards or regulations.

Prepare WSH On-Job-Training for new worker.

Upkeep records for all PPE issuance and shall be presented during DOSH audits.

Advice Management on all OSH issues and executions.

Coordinates and participates in Toolbox Meeting and Mass Briefing.

Perform walkabout daily inspection in both factory and list down all OSH matters in the respective checklist.

Attend to project/ client site as focal point as Safety Representative if required.

Carry out any other duties or ad hoc tasks as assigned by Management.

Requirements

At least Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or a related field other discipline, or management plus with certificate of safety and health officer organized by NIOSH or other education institution recognized by DOSH.

Experienced in safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.

Good teamwork & problem-solving skills

Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industries.
