Uni-Vessel Engineering (B'Worth) Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Safety & Health Officer to join our Penang workshop on a full-time basis. You will develop, implement and monitor health and safety protocols to protect our workforce and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role covers audits, risk assessments, training and incident investigations, with liaison to authorities. You will promote a strong safety culture, manage PPE and maintain records, reporting to top management.

Qualifications

• DOSH Green Book holder and OSH qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as Safety Officer in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation and standards.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections and investigations.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Valid driving license preferred.

About the role
Uni-Vessel Engineering (B'Worth) Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety & Health Officer to join our team on a full-time basis in Tasek Simpang Ampat, Penang. As Safety & Health Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols that protect our workforce and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures and programs across our workshop and subsidiaries

Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, risks and non-compliance issues

Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective and preventative actions

Provide health and safety training to all employees, contractors and site personnel to ensure awareness and competency

Monitor and maintain health and safety records, documentation and reporting systems in accordance with regulatory requirements

Liaise with regulatory authorities and external agencies to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health legislation

Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for workplace activities, equipment and processes

Promote a strong safety culture across the organization through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks and safety committees

Manage the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper usage and maintenance

Report on health and safety performance metrics and present findings to top management

Respond promptly to health and safety concerns raised by employees and implement timely resolutions

What we're looking for

Relevant professional qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (valid DOSH green book holder)

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar health and safety role within the manufacturing industry

Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation, regulations and standards

Strong understanding of workplace hazards, risk management and safety best practices

Proven ability to conduct safety audits, inspections and investigations effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with employees at all levels

Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail

Ability to work independently

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written)

Valid driving license (preferred)
