Job summary

Shin Yang Plywood Sdn Bhd in Miri, Sarawak, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist in implementing and monitoring OSH policies across the factory. The role involves conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and coordinating safety training for employees, with a focus on maintaining compliant records and timely corrective actions.

You will work closely with management to identify hazards, lead accident investigations, and ensure PPE usage is proper, while supporting continuous improvement

Job description

1. Assist in implementing and monitoring the company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies and procedures.

2. Conduct regular workplace safety inspections to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.

3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements set by DOSH (JKKP) and other relevant authorities.

4. Assist in conducting safety inductions, toolbox meetings and safety awareness programmes for employees.

5. Maintain and update safety records, reports, checklists and related documentation.

6. Assist in accident and incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

7. Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among employees.

8. Coordinate safety training, inspections and other OSH-related activities.

9. Follow up on safety issues and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented.

10. Perform other safety-related duties as assigned by management.
